  • Most of these can be found in disinfectants, furniture polishes, mildew removers, dish soaps, laundry and dish detergents, fabric softeners, all-purpose cleaning products, glass, oven and drain cleaners. As a rule it is better to use home-made and green cleaning products. Always check the labels of the cleaning products before purchasing them. The ingredients which are completely safe for allergy sufferers are baking soda and vinegar. You can make a paste of these and use to clean almost everything. Don’t ever mix bleach with ammonia or vinegar.
  • Clean the surfaces of your home with salt and vinegar. Remove scents and odours from carpets using baking soda. A mixture of baking soda and water is effective in cleaning baby bottles. Apply lemon juice or olive oil mixed with vegetable oil to polish and maintain your furniture. Provide proper ventilation and refreshing of the air in your home using steeped tea, cloves and cinnamon.
  • If you can leave the cleaning to someone without allergy to do it this will protect you from dust and allergens. If there isn’t such option every time you do the cleaning of your home wear a mask to protect your health from the bacteria and allergens. Leave the place for a few hours to limit your contact with germs. During the cleaning process ventilate the room by opening the windows whenever possible. This will make the work less unpleasant and likely to trigger allergic reactions.
  • Provide regular vacuum cleaning of the rooms once or twice per week. Make sure your vacuum cleaner has HEPA filter or double filter which capture even the smallest allergens. Some of them are too tiny and regular filters will pass them through which will result in spreading bacteria in the air.
  • Keep the clutter in your rooms to minimum as boxes, clothes and other items get covered with dust mites and attract cockroaches. Make sure the rooms are easy to clean, less piled and won’t take you too much time to get wiped of the dust.
  • Regularly clean the bathroom tiles from mould by scrubbing them as well as the shower curtain which in some cases can be washed in the machine.
  • Wash regularly the blankets, throw rugs and fabric covers .Top to bottom cleaning Battersea suggests the bed linen should be washed in hot water once per week. Keep the worktop surfaces dry and clean at all times. Store the food in well sealed containers and never leave it around your house.

You don’t have to get obsesses with cleaning, but only to provide regular such using suitable self-made or green products. Moulds, dust mites, pollen, pet dander and cockroach droppings are allergens which number will be reduced if you clean your rooms effectively and oftener.
Using the cleaning tips and precautions presented above you can relieve your allergic reactions and reduce their number. The less allergens and bacteria there are in your home the better this is for your health and to achieve this you should clean the rooms regularly as described above.
